An original ceramic piece by Sussex artist Jaen Loftin.
Hand built stoneware clay fired with a matt white scarva glaze.
Dimensions: H: 38cm x D:26cm
Jaen Loftin studied Fine Art at London Guildhall University and Ceramics at Greenwich College, London.
Moving gradually from painting and photography to ceramics, she has exhibited at the Edinburgh Fringe, Deptford X and APT Gallery London.
She enjoys the meditative process of hand-building coiled pots, the immediate contact of the clay, and the sculptural carving of the leather-hard stage. The process being as important as the outcome.
Her current work is influenced by the poised still-life paintings of Morandi and his minimal palette. Choosing a matt white glaze, so that the attention is to the form.
She has a studio in St Leonards and lives in a cottage by the sea.We are pleased to offer our UK clients the Own Art scheme, allowing you to spread the cost of buying contemporary art over ten months interest-free.
